At present, with the continuous development of the packaging industry, it can be seen that there are many contradictions in the packaging machinery industry, and enterprises are unable to cope with changes in the situation. The development ideas and concepts of the industry are not in line with the development of the situation; Weak technological innovation capability and slow progress in process technology

The reporter learned from the Chengdu Market Supervision Administration that recently, the bureau organized a special publicity and training program to promote the implementation of four national standards for building insulation materials, guiding the industry towards safe, standardized, and high-quality development.

The mandatory national standard "Safety Technical Specification for Combustion Performance of Thermal Insulation Materials and Products for Buildings" (GB46520-2025) will be implemented on August 1, 2026. The reporter learned that the standard classifies and clarifies the minimum combustion performance level based on the different combustion characteristics of organic, inorganic, and composite materials, and puts forward quantitative requirements for smoke toxicity, combustion droplets, and smoke production characteristics. At the same time, it is required that product labeling must include key information such as name, combustion performance level, and production unit, providing a basis for quality traceability and regulatory enforcement.

Two recommended national standards for foamed plastics were upgraded simultaneously. Molded Polystyrene Foam (EPS) for Thermal Insulation (GB/T 10801.1-2025) and Extruded Polystyrene Foam (XPS) for Thermal Insulation (GB/T 10801.2-2025) will be implemented on July 1, 2026. The former has added thermal resistance indicators, changed combustion performance requirements, strengthened labels and user manuals; The latter has added X1200 and W100 product indicators, expanded thickness specifications, and clarified packaging, transportation, and storage requirements.

The recommended national standard for sandwich panels has significantly improved key indicators. The "Metal faced Insulated Sandwich Panels for Construction" (GB/T 23932-2025) will also be implemented on July 1, 2026. This standard increases the bonding strength from 0.06MPa to 0.10MPa, and specifies that the outdoor galvanized layer should be ≥ 90/90g/m2. Adhesive strength, combustion performance, and heat transfer coefficient are listed as key indicators for veto power. Each batch of sandwich panels must be equipped with a nameplate, indicating the implementation standards, specifications, raw materials, batch numbers, and other information, to achieve "one board, one certificate".

Chengdu, as a gathering place for the western construction and building materials industry, has a complete industrial chain. The new standards will effectively promote the technological upgrading of enterprises. Consumers should pay attention to whether the products are labeled with the implementation standard number and combustion performance level when making purchases; The construction unit must check the quality certification documents against the new standards during the on-site acceptance to ensure that the materials are fireproof, energy-saving, and durable.

It is reported that the Chengdu Market Supervision Bureau continues to deepen the full chain rectification of safety hazards in building insulation materials, strengthen supervision in key areas such as product quality and inspection and testing behavior in the production and sales process, deepen coordination with departments such as housing and construction, emergency management, and fire rescue, and form a regulatory synergy. The relevant person in charge of the Municipal Market Supervision Bureau stated that after the implementation of the new national standard, they will further increase the supervision and inspection of product quality in the production and sales process, investigate and punish products that do not meet the requirements of the new standard in accordance with the law, ensure the effective implementation of the new standard, and effectively guarantee the energy-saving quality and fire safety of buildings.

With the implementation of four national standards, the building insulation material industry in Chengdu will usher in a new round of quality improvement and upgrading, providing solid guarantees for urban energy conservation and fire safety. (From Chengdu Daily)
